In an intimate conversation with Filmfare, Shruti Haasan shared a cherished memory of the late Sridevi, highlighting the legendary actress’ unique aura.In a candid segment of Filmfare's In The Ring With Filmfare, Shruti Haasan opened up about her memories of the iconic late Sridevi. Recalling a moment from her childhood, Shruti said, “she was peculiarly innocent till the very end. You know, I just found her to be like pure from the inside. The way she would talk about stories.”

She recounted an emotional moment during the filming of Puli, when her father, Kamal Haasan, sent a nostalgic photograph to Sridevi.

She said, “Papa said, ‘Send her this picture, she’ll love it.’ So he sends me a picture of her, her mum and Appa, and she’s sitting on her mum’s lap. In two seconds, makeup for Puli was really elaborate and big. She was just in tears and she’s like, ‘Can I talk to him? I want to talk about this memory.’ And I just remember that moment.”

Shruti also reflected on Sridevi's commanding presence on set, stating, “Of course, the rest of the time, she was just commanding and incredibly powerful on set. Like the queen has entered.” The iconic actress, renowned for films like Laadla, Mom and English Vinglish, passed away at the age of 54 in February 2018.

Her international debut comes with the British psychological thriller The Eye, where she plays Diana, a grieving widow entangled in a mysterious ritual. The film premiered at the 5th Wench Film Festival, India’s premier event for horror, sci-fi, and fantasy genres.
